We are taught that in order to make a difference that we need to pour our resources and energy in to a cause. That we need to convince and debate and conquer the minds of others. We are taught that there is a long road ahead of us if we plan on doing anything helpful. But this mindset is rigid and privileged.

I believe that the best way to change the world is to lead by example. I believe that true leadership is optimistic, tender, kind, and gives the benefit of the doubt. It is often quiet. It knows pain just as well as passion. And most importantly, we are all capable of it. Every day.

When you show understanding of others around you, the world softens.

Empathy is anarchy. Those who are hardest to love pose to us an important lesson IN love.

About the Artist

Dionne Ong is a mixed-race Asian Canadian artist whose work provokes and challenges her viewers' connection with nature, infinity, and self-love.

She has an 'every day' practice, most notably publishing 261 unique illustrations in 2021.

"It's so easy to see the magic in Mother Nature and animals, and deem them worthy of love. And yet, we struggle to allow ourselves to be worthy of love- despite being part of nature. The purpose of my work has always been to connect you to your magic."
